Perhaps you're newly married and have not had years to accumulate Christmas ornaments, tree toppers, and such.  It may be that you recently moved out on your own from your parents house and this is the first year you will decorate for Christmas on your own.  Then again, it could just be that you prefer to be fiscally responsible about your holiday decor.
