What Size Christmas Tree? Think Big With a Smaller Tree

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and before you know it, it will be time to go shopping to for a Christmas tree.  Whether you plan to purchase a freshly cut tree, a living tree, or an artificial tree, you need to consider how tall of a tree you desire.  Keep the height of your ceiling in mind .  Most houses and apartments have standard 8 ft high ceiling so the perfect floor to ceiling tree is about 7-1/2 ft tall.  Depending on the height of your tree topper, you may have to bend or trim the top leader branch a bit to get that perfect floor to ceiling look.

Lift it Up!
Your tree doesn't have to rest on the floor.  Consider a small 3ft or 4 ft tree to set on a table.  This makes for a perfect display in your window where lights can easily be seen from the outside.

A small  tree is clearly much more convenient to bring home if you live in an apartment or condo, but let's face it, a small tree is easier to handle no matter where you live.  If you're looking for a tree to for a large room or for a room with vaulted ceiling, a tabletop tree can be just the thing.  Instead of bringing in a towering 12 ft tall tree, consider using a smaller 8 ft tree and place it on a 3 ft table.  This creates a lot of space below and around the tree for gifts, and make for a very full, luxurious look in a large space.
