Don't Forget the Master Bedroom

Gold and rich mahogany tones in the master bedroom:  regal and calming

A beautiful master bedroom suite is an important element in any home, but when most people decorate their homes they focus on the living room or kitchen areas. The master bedroom remains unseen to guests for the most part, so it usually falls last on the list. But you begin and end each day in our master bedroom, so it shouldn't it be a priority?  Since it is truly our own personal space, I think the master bedroom should be the most inviting and comfortable room our homes.

Get Started
Start by examining the positioning of your bed. Move it around the room and find a place that gives you maximum
floor space. Once you have your bed positioned as you like it, you can begin to move around other pieces of furniture to enhance your bedroom designs.

Bedroom armoires are another great piece to add to your room. You can use armoires for a variety of purposes in the room. You can buy large, wooden armoire to hold clothes, shoes, or even jewelry. Most of us love to watch television at night and bedroom armoires can be used to create a beautiful entertainment center.   As you browse various bedroom designs, take into account the many potential purposes of armoires.  As opposed to the currently popular mounting of the television on the wall, an armoire allows the television to be tucked away and out-of-sight when not in use.

Green is a perennial favorite color in bedrooms due to its calming qualities

Before you start shopping for paint colors or bedding, take some time to think about the overall look you want to create. Instead of designing the room around a wall hanging, design the decor around the feeling you want the room to give you.  Imagine a place of relaxation and rest. What colors come to mind? If the beach is your idea of ultimate relaxation, then maybe a soft blue would be
your choice for paint. If you are more interested in a mountain getaway, then choose a rich green or gold color for your walls. Offset your color choices with bold pieces of furniture. Bedroom armoires or dressers in mahogany tones look beautiful when paired with rich gold colors, as well as with pale soothing blues and greens.  Once you have a color palette in mind for your master bedroom suite, you can go shopping.
